Reporters should use Social Networking sites

I found this article in the Washington Post---its a follow up to one of my previous posts on tightening ethics at the Post. I think it makes some good points on why social networking sites are good. Since they have implemented their new policy against these things I find it ironic that they published this.

I absolutely support the integration of social networking into journalism. As a matter of fact, I think it's an inevitable merger, and a symbiotic relationship that's unavoidable at this point. It's just a matter of when.

The world is being defined these days by increasing connectivity. If the media wants to keep up with the ever-accelerating speed of the times, then they'll have to adapt in some form to the new means of social integration.
