Newspapers want readers help with online credibility.
Does anyone think that this is the right thing to do, and if so, will it help in the long run to re-establish the credibility of journalism? If not, why?
I think we are on the right track and I like the projects being conducted.

I think that the ongoing dialogue as well as prompt responses to readers' concerns will help news outlets gain more credibility in the long run.
The only problem will be when readers' opinions are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The best solution, in these cases, will be to maintain a standard and a level of honesty that each member of the public can respect regardless of their personal opinions.
